Male hair loss is the most common type of hair loss. It is caused by increased sensitivityto male sex hormons (androgens) in certain parts of the scalp, and passed on from generation to generation.
The hormones make the hair follicles shrink from where the hair grows. After a while, they become so small that they can't replace lost hairs. The follicles are still alive, but are not really able to do their job. There is a drug taken in tablet form, finasteride (PROPECIA) that partially blocks the effects of the male hormones (an “anti-androgen”). Propecia promote re-growth of scalphair in aproximately 80% of patients after 3 to 6 months.

Finasteride (Propecia) is a drug for the treatment of certain types of male pattern hair loss in men. Propecia reduces DHT(dihydrotestosterone), a key cause of hair loss.
For best results take Propecia every day for 12 months.
You may need to take Propecia daily for 3 months or more before you see a benefit.
