Yomesan 500mg 4comp

COMPOSITION: Each tablet contains 500 mg niclosamide.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION: A. 12 anthelmintics.
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS: Yomesan expels tapeworms in the intestine. No effect therefore can be expected in cysticercosis and hydatid disease due to larval cestodes (cysticerci) of accommodation in the extra-intestinal tissue.
DIRECTIONS:
Infections with:
Taenia saginata (the beef tapeworm)
Taenia solium (pork tapeworm)
Diphyllobothrium latum (fish tapeworm)
Hymenolepis nana (dwarf tapeworm).
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to niclosamide.
Yomesan can be given safely after the first three months of pregnancy, and patients with liver, bile and kidney.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Yomesan tablets are taken after breakfast. It is important that the tablets are completely chewed and swallowed with a little water. The tablets also can take broken in a little water. For young children, the tablets should grind as finely as possible and mix the powder with some water. If there is constipation, deep cleaning of the digestive tract is necessary before treatment. Dietary measures are not necessary.
The infestation with tapeworms by beef (T. saginata), pork tapeworm (T. solium) and the fish tapeworm (D. latum) a single dose is sufficient.
Adults and children 6 years and older - 4 tablets
Children 2-6 years - 2 tablets
Children under 2 years - 1 tablet
A drastic saline purge (eg, sodium sulfate, magnesium sulfate), two hours after dosing Yomesan should ensure rapid and complete expulsion of the worm. Without purging, the parasite passes into pieces during the coming days. In the case of Taenia solium, a drastic purge is necessary. For infections with dwarf tapeworm (H. nana), the following treatment for 7 days is recommended:
First day:

Children 2-6 years - 2 tablets

For six days:
Adults and children 6 years and older - 2 tablets daily
Children 2-6 years - 1 tablet daily
Children under 2 years - ½ tablet daily
CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE the foil until immediately before the ingestion
SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS: Yomesan can cause gastrointestinal tract disturbances, including nausea and abdominal pain. No alcohol should be taken during treatment.
Symptoms of overdose and particulars of its treatment:
According to available data, the active substance Yomesan, Niclosamide is little absorbed by the body, so that toxic effects are not expected. If a patient has taken an overdose of the product, for safety reasons usual therapeutic for the treatment of intoxication should be applied (gastric lavage, symptomatic treatment).
