
Mechanism of action
Has the ability to concentrate the melanocytes to expose the affected part sun or UV light.
Therapeutic Indications and Dosage:
Oral.
- Idiopathic vitiligo not associated with destruction of melanocytes: ads.: 20 mg / day, 2-4 h after exposing affected area to direct sunlight or UV for 5 min, being able to extend additional rate of 5 min / wk until 30 min / day. Children <6 years: 10 mg / day, between 6 and 12 years: 10-20 mg / day, same conditions of ads.
- Increased tolerance of skin hypersensitive to sunlight: like tto. that vitiligo, max. 14 days.
Contraindications:
Lupus erythematosus, porphyria, IH, diabetes mellitus.
Warnings and Precautions:
Avoid concomitant use with drugs that may cause photosensitization: tetracyclines, phenothiazines.
Liver failure
Contraindicated in liver disease.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, headache, nervousness, insomnia, mental depression or excitement.
